Many years ago, Blue Sky Clothing came into being at the Balfour ferry landing. The small store was operated out of a VW van by Marilyn Cobban, who saw a real need in her community for naturally sourced clothes that fit real womens’ bodies. In the pursuit of that goal, she started a production chain that was kind to the people making the garments, and to the planet.
Years later, Blue Sky now has 9 locations across BC and a budding online business – but it is still creating beautiful clothing that is styled for women of all shapes and sizes. Inside the quaint yet surprisingly well-stocked Balfour store, one can find stylish, cool-feeling summer dresses or incredibly sophisticated (yet soft) work-wear for all sizes, from XXS to 4X.
At Blue Sky, all our stores are friendly, welcoming, and low-pressure. Our clothing is made with natural fibers like Bamboo for comfort and ease of wear, and all stages of Blue Sky’s production uphold Fair Trade and Eco-Friendly principles.
